What is the Community Navigator Program?

The Community Navigator Program offers free, one-on-one guidance to help you navigate systems and processes that can feel overwhelming to face alone. Life is full of situations where the hardest part is simply knowing where to start, and our team helps you understand where to go, what to do, and how to take the next step. Support is provided on a case-by-case basis in both English and Haitian Creole.

What kind of things can you help me with?

Our guidance covers a wide range of everyday needs. A few common examples include applying for government assistance and public benefits, understanding health, auto, or life insurance, finding the right local services and resources, and taking the first steps to start a business or nonprofit.

This is not a complete list, so if you are facing a process and are not sure where to begin, we encourage you to reach out. If it is something we are not able to help with directly, we will do our best to point you toward the right resource.

Who can use the Community Navigator Program?

The program is open to everyone. We offer dedicated bilingual support in English and Haitian Creole to help address language barriers, but anyone who needs guidance navigating a process or system is welcome to reach out, regardless of background.

Is there anything the program does not help with?

Yes. The Community Navigator Program provides guidance and direction, not professional representation. We do not provide legal representation or legal advice, prepare court or immigration documents, or provide professional financial, tax, or medical advice. When specialized assistance is needed, we’ll gladly help connect you with the appropriate professional or organization.

Do you offer workshops or group sessions?

Yes, as capacity allows. From time to time we host free in-person workshops on practical, everyday topics. These sessions are conducted in both English and Haitian Creole to ensure they are fully accessible to our community members, including anyone who may face language or information barriers. Announcements for upcoming workshops will be shared through our website and social media channels.

Is the Community Navigator Program free?

Yes. All Community Navigator Program guidance and workshops are completely free of charge. We are a nonprofit, and this service is part of our mission, not a paid service.
