Sometimes The Hardest Part is Knowing Where To Start.
Life is full of systems and processes that can feel overwhelming, especially when information is difficult to find or understand. The Community Navigator Program offers free, one-on-one guidance to help you understand your options, identify your next steps, and connect with trusted resources.
Whether you’re applying for benefits, searching for community resources, trying to understand a process, or simply unsure where to begin, we’re here to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you move forward with confidence.
Support is available in English and Haitian Creole.
What Is a Community Navigator?
A Community Navigator is someone who helps people understand unfamiliar systems, connect with trusted resources, and navigate everyday challenges with confidence.
Rather than simply handing over the information or completing the process for you, we help you understand your options, show you how to meet requirements, and guide you through each step to completion.
We believe access to information and community resources should never depend on language barriers or knowing where to look.
What We Can Help With
Our guidance covers a wide range of everyday needs, including:
Applying for government assistance and public benefits
Understanding applications, forms, processes, and next steps
Finding essential services, including health insurance, food assistance, housing, utilities, childcare, and healthcare providers
Taking the first steps to start a business or nonprofit
Connecting with local organizations and community resources
Providing referrals to trusted organizations or professionals when specialized assistance is needed
If you're facing a process that feels confusing or overwhelming, reach out. If it's outside our scope, we'll gladly help point you toward the appropriate organization or professional whenever possible.
How It Works:
Whether you're facing a new challenge or simply don't know where to begin, we're here to help you identify your next steps and connect with the right resources.
Please note: The Community Navigator Program provides information, guidance, education, and referrals. We do not provide legal representation or legal advice, prepare court or immigration documents, or provide professional financial, tax, or medical advice. When specialized assistance is needed, we’ll gladly help connect you with the appropriate professional or organization.
