Financial Accountability:
Miyka’el Foundation is committed to the responsible and transparent management of all financial resourcesentrusted to us. Our financial practices are designed to protect donor intent, ensure program effectiveness, andmaintain the long-term sustainability of the foundation.
- Banking: Foundation funds are maintained in a dedicated organizational bank account separate from anypersonal accounts.
- Signatory Authority: Santia Calixte, Founder & President, serves as the sole authorized signatory onfoundation accounts. The Board Secretary & Interim Treasurer holds Accountant-level access,enabling full financial visibility, monthly statement review, expense categorization, and report oversight without transactional authority. This structure ensures both executive control and independent financial oversight at the board level.
- Monthly Financial Review: The Board Secretary & Interim Treasurer conducts monthly reviews of all financial statements to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies early, and maintain ongoing financial oversight on behalf of the board.
- Expenditure Oversight: Significant expenditures and financial commitments are reviewed with appropriate board oversight to ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
- Fund Integrity: Designated gifts are tracked and used exclusively for their intended purpose. Donor designations are honored in full.
- Annual Reporting: The foundation is committed to filing all required federal and state financial disclosures including IRS Form 990 and Florida charitable solicitation renewals in a timely manner.
